The problem is that ANY information tagged about you WHETHER YOU SUBMIT IT OR NOT becomes public EVEN IF OTHERS SUBMIT IT. i.e. Photos, innaccurate wall posts, etc. Further, the majority of content posted to Facebook WAS PREVIOUSLY GUARANTEED TO BE PRIVATE. i.e. Date of birth, location, interests, friends, subscriptions, etc. THESE ARE NOW, after years of information accumulation, BEING RENDERED PUBLIC whether the user desires it OR NOT.

That is your first clue.
